Japanese GMO company shows mining gains with revenue of over 22 million in 3 months

Last September, Japanese IT company GMO announced its entry into the cryptocurrency mining industry and decided to build a large-scale mining farm in the Nordic region. At the end of last year, the mine was put into use, and now it is time to show revenue.

According to a report released by GMO on March 5, GMO mined 23 bitcoins in December last year, 93 bitcoins in January and 124 bitcoins in February this year. Based on the current price, these bitcoins are worth more than 17 million yuan.

While harvesting Bitcoin, GMO is also mining Bitcoin Cash. During the same period, they harvested 525 Bitcoin Cash, worth about 4.1 million yuan.

In total, GMO has earned more than RMB 21 million from mining in the past three months.

However, GMO did not disclose the cost of mining. Although the income is considerable, it cannot be asserted that the income from these cryptocurrencies can exceed the operating expenses.

According to GMO's previously announced plan, they will invest hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency mining farms. GMO also plans to design and sell the company's mining machines, and they also plan to launch cryptocurrency cloud services in August.
