South Korean police arrest 14 Bitcoin miners for illegally using cheap electricity

According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korean police recently arrested 14 miners from 13 companies who illegally used cheap electricity. It is reported that the police discovered the illegal mining activities in Gwangju, a southwestern city in South Korea. These companies have been engaged in cryptocurrency mining since May 2017. The police accused these companies of working in large office areas and using the name of developing comprehensive business to mine, which can save 10% of electricity bills compared to ordinary office areas, while enjoying lower rents.
