Ethereum Classic (ETC) announced that it will perform a hard fork at block #5900000 to remove the "difficulty bomb", which is designed to push ETH to switch to POS. ETC will continue to maintain the POW consensus algorithm for the foreseeable future. The fork is expected to take place on May 24th. Node users need to upgrade geth to version 5.0.0 or parity to version 1.9.3.
