According to Mashable, on May 31, US ticketing giant Ticketfly was attacked by hackers and ransomware, resulting in a serious data leak that compromised the personal information of some of its customers. CNet later confirmed that ransom was the motive behind the attack, saying it had contacted the hacker, who had indicated he wanted 1 Bitcoin "to fix the vulnerability," the report said. "We are currently investigating this incident as best we can," Ticketfly said on its support site on Friday. "For a short period of time, our website and other services will be unavailable to the public. We are unable to give a timeline or answer as to when our business operations will return to normal." |
