Montana postpones Bitcoin mining ban

According to CCN, after a hearing last Thursday, the Missoula County Commission in Montana, USA, announced the postponement of its order to ban Bitcoin mining, saying that it was not aware of the specific operations and planned to hold another hearing in August to make a decision. It is reported that the main reasons for the region's opposition to Bitcoin mining are the noise from mining machine cooling equipment, rising electricity prices, greenhouse gases generated by mining, fire hazards and electronic waste. Montana is favored by mining companies for its lower temperatures and electricity costs. Bonner Bitcoin in the region had already deployed 12,000 mining machines in 2017 and plans to increase the number to 55,000. |
