Report: Malicious mining software will become the main form of attack

According to bitcoinist.com, according to the latest report from independent cybersecurity company WatchGuard Technologies, the threat of malicious mining is increasing and may become the main form of malware attack in the near future. It is expected that this form of attack will be included in the top 10 cyber threats by the end of this year.

The report states that 98.8% of the malware detected used a script that downloaded and ran a Linux-based crypto miner. The script forced the Linux device to download and run software that mines Monero, ultimately compromising the device’s processing power.
