According to CoinDesk, the latest published documents show that Japanese technology giant Sony hopes to apply for patents for two types of hardware for hosting and maintaining blockchains. Sony’s two documents, titled “Electronic Node and Distributed Ledger Maintenance Method” and “Device and System,” reveal for the first time that the company is working on blockchain-related hardware concepts. They also lay the groundwork for the company to potentially include these devices in future products. This isn’t to say that Sony is launching its own cryptocurrency. But here, Sony appears to be moving in that direction, as it claims that its proposed invention could serve that purpose. |
