Intel chip SGX has tampering vulnerability, Bitcoin security will be affected

According to Coindesk, a fatal vulnerability was found in the SGX part of Intel's chip, and researchers found a way to break through the protection and tamper with data. Some digital currency projects have already intended to use this hardware for security protection.

It is reported that the researchers notified Intel after the discovery, and Intel has found a solution, but the upgrade has not been fully completed.

Bitcoin Core maintainer Wladimir van der Laan responded: “Even if Bitcoin is somehow perfect, it is never a good idea to root Bitcoin’s security in the technology of a chip vendor.”
