Japanese man fined 300,000 yen for illegal mining


According to mainichi.jp, the Japanese police arrested 16 illegal miners and sent the criminals' information to the Procuratorate. These people used other people's computers without permission to get paid by mining cryptocurrency. In this incident, the Yokohama District Prosecutor's Office filed a simple indictment on the 19th against a man (31 years old) engaged in the website operation industry in Hiratsuka City for the crime of possessing improper instruction electromagnetic records (viruses), and at that time proposed a fine of 300,000 yen. According to the indictment, the man set up the Coinhive program that could mine Monero by just browsing the web page in his own operation from December last year to February this year, without informing the browser in advance.
