Norway's cancellation of electricity subsidies for miners sparks controversy

According to Cointelegraph, the Norwegian government intends to cancel electricity subsidies for Bitcoin miners starting in January 2019. Industry interest group ICT has strongly criticized the government's actions, with Chief ICT Economist Roger Schjerva protesting that the government is now gambling with its credibility. Some in the local blockchain industry agree with the government's move. Jon Ramvi, CEO of blockchain consulting group Blockchangers, said that the reduction in mining in Norway will reduce electricity prices for companies and people in Norway.
