Bitcoin community members announced that they would donate $1.2 million to promote diversified innovation of Bitcoin protocol

A few days ago, Reddit user "mallorie47" posted a screenshot of a Bitcoin community statement on the r/btc sub-forum, but its authenticity was doubted by many people. Today, after the statement was posted on the bitcoindevelopmentgrant.com website, it has caused heated discussions in the three major communities of r/Bitcoin/, r/btc and the Babbitt Forum.

The following is the full statement:

We are pleased to announce the establishment of a $1.2 million sponsorship fund for Bitcoin protocol development. This will support Bitcoin protocol development teams, promote more innovation, and increase the freedom of choice for all Bitcoin users.

To establish a foundation for moving forward together, here are some common principles that all members of the Bitcoin community can agree on.
