Bitcoin miners earned about $5 billion in 2019, down more than $200 million from 2018

On January 19, according to TheBlock, global Bitcoin miners earned approximately $5 billion in 2019. Of this, $4.89 billion was block rewards and approximately $146 million came from transaction fees.

Compared to 2018, miners' income in 2019 has decreased. Data shows that miners' income at that time was about 5.26 billion US dollars. In addition, miners' income in 2017 was 3.19 billion US dollars.

According to data from BTC.com, the difficulty of Bitcoin mining has continued to rise recently. At 7:42 am on January 15, Bitcoin adjusted its mining difficulty to 14.78T at block height 612,864, an increase of 7.08% from January 2, setting a new record high.

In addition, Bitcoin computing power is also gradually increasing. On January 18, Hodlonaut, the founder of Lightning Torch, tweeted that Bitcoin computing power hit a new high of 126.13 EH/s. When the price of Bitcoin reached an all-time high in December 2017, the computing power was 13 EH/s.
