According to Chain News, the decentralized storage project Filecoin has launched the Filecoin Discover project, with the goal of incentivizing early miners to store valuable information in exchange for Filecoin tokens to help securely store data sets that are important to humanity. Filecoin said it has launched physical hard drives that have stored verified data covering literature, science, art, and history in its official store, including meteorological data and autonomous driving data collected from cities around the world. Filecoin also said that the project aims to guide the program in a financially sustainable way, so these storage hard drives have been priced at cost. Miners who choose to participate in the program will receive hard drives pre-installed with verification data, as well as installation and maintenance instructions, through purchase. The goods are scheduled to start shipping in late May to early June. Chain News previously reported that the decentralized storage project Filecoin released an economic structure framework at the end of April, proposing the principles of the basic economic model. |
