"Knowledge Mining University takes you to visit the mine" first episode highlights

This week, Bitcoin's total network computing power and mining difficulty hit new historical highs!

Mining is the upstream of Bitcoin, but it has always been shrouded in mystery. Although it has been developed for more than ten years and has led a group of people to achieve "wealth freedom" in everyone's eyes, there are very few people who really understand mining, and even fewer people who have personally visited the mines.

On September 24 last year, we posted the first mining farm video on Zhikuang University’s Weibo, taking everyone on a “cloud” tour of the mining farm. One of the comments left a deep impression on us:

“ I’ll take more videos so I can promote mining machines and mining farms to my parents. Mining machines and mining farms can be said to be the main means of Bitcoin materialization. ”

Afterwards, we posted some videos of the mine on Weibo, and more and more people left messages wanting to join us to visit the mine.

In early December last year, all members of Zhikuang University carried cameras, drones and other equipment and flew to the vast Xinjiang, deep into the mines in the desert, bringing everyone a more comprehensive perspective - " Zhikuang University takes you to visit the mines - Xinjiang trip silhouettes ". After reading it, many friends were envious and strongly requested us to open registration and take everyone to visit the mines.

As we all know, both thermal power mines and hydropower mines are located in very remote places with inconvenient transportation and relatively harsh environment. In addition, many mines have confidentiality requirements. Except for big miners and big customers, they generally do not receive outsiders or open to the public.

On the one hand, there are the strong expectations of our friends, and on the other hand, there is the complexity of the mine, which makes us feel torn. After a long time of thinking, we decided to overcome the difficulties and meet everyone's wishes. After all, the simplest and most effective way to let a person better understand Bitcoin and mining is to take this person to the mine to see the rows of factory buildings, tens of thousands of mining machines, the roar of the mining machines, the busy operation and maintenance workers, and then look at the hydropower station and the rushing river.

Therefore, during the live broadcast of Bitcoin Halving Night in May this year, we gave away 3 tickets to visit the mine. In June, taking advantage of the arrival of the flood season, we personally went to the mine deep in the mountains of Sichuan to check out the site, plan the route, and negotiate with the mine owner.

Event Review

On July 10, friends from all walks of life who share the common identity label of "coin friends" gathered in Chengdu. In the evening, Zhikuang University distributed exquisite Litecoin peripheral products to everyone: "People are here, coins are here" T-shirts, folding fans, hats...

On the morning of July 11, we set off from Chengdu on a minibus. More than three hours later, we arrived at the town where the mine was located. After arranging accommodation and having a simple lunch, everyone couldn't wait to head straight to the first hydropower mine.

This is a 120,000-ton hydroelectric mine located next to the dam. Part of the electricity generated by the hydroelectric power station is directly transmitted to the mine, and then transformed by a transformer to power the mining machine. After entering the mine, Wang Chengshun, the offline mine supervisor of Litebit, first introduced the mine to everyone:

Then, Wang Chengshun led everyone to visit the factory. This was the first time for the friends to enter the mining factory, and everyone was very excited, even though the roar of the mining machine made it so loud that everyone couldn't hear each other's voices. The person in charge of the mine operation and maintenance of Litebit also demonstrated the loading and unloading of the mining machine on the spot.

After visiting the factory, we came to the maintenance room, where the maintenance technician explained in detail the internal structure of the mining machine, the main types of faults, maintenance time, and the importance of on-site maintenance to miners. The curious friends held their mobile phones and surrounded the technician, taking photos.

After visiting the mine, we led our friends to the majestic dam, admired the reservoir scenery, felt Sichuan’s rich hydropower resources, and took photos.

In the evening, it is time to experience the local specialties. After a busy day, the friends are still energetic, chatting happily at the dinner table and eating with gusto.

The next morning, we went to another large mine located in the hydropower consumption park. This newly completed mine with a load of more than 300,000 tons was much larger in design and scale than the previous mine.

After the tour, we rushed to Chengdu by minibus. Some of us had to fly home that night, while those who stayed in Chengdu that night got together again to enjoy the food and night view of Chengdu.
