NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3080 was announced two days ago and the mining performance of the Ampere GPU-based flagship has been leaked on Videocardz, which uses the DaggerHashimoto algorithm to evaluate the mining performance of GPU graphics cards. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 mining performance leaks up to 93 MH/s when overclocked The mining industry’s recovery could lead to higher prices and lower inventory for upcoming graphics cards, so the leaked mining data may not be the good news that all consumers waiting to use graphics cards are looking forward to. This is mainly because if crypto miners flood the market to get their hands on high-performance GPUs, it will lead to a shortage of supply, which will eventually lead to higher prices for consumer-based graphics cards. As for the mining performance itself, the GeForce RTX 3080 was tested out of the box in the Ethereum DaggerHashimoto algorithm, with a hashrate of 73-74 MH/s in normal mode. The performance can reach up to 82-84 MH/s, and overclocking the card can use high-performance output, up to 92-93 MH/s. Currently, the hashrate of AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT is about 50-54 MH/s, while the hashrate of GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is 54 MH/s. Here are the output rates produced by the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 at normal and overclocked specifications: For comparison, the Radeon VII, the graphics card with the highest mining profit right now, offers pretty good hashrate in Ethereum, generating 90 MH/s of hashrate at 245W. According to a report from the EtherMining subreddit, the highest hashrate reached 96 MH/s, overclocked. But the problem is that Radeon VII has been discontinued, and AMD's existing inventory only includes Navi-based products. AMD's next-generation RDNA 2 cards (including the halo "Big Navi" products) are indeed coming soon, with an official release scheduled for October 28, but this suggests a release date of late 2020 (November). NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Graphics Cards Pricing and Availability NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will be available to consumers on September 17, 2020. The Founders Edition version will be priced at $699. The price of NVIDIA RTX 3080 is $699 (MSRP), but custom models will vary depending on their design and the extra power provided. Below is the parameters and price list of the 30 series graphics cards. Will you use this high-cost graphics card for Ethereum mining? |
