2020 is coming to an end for IPFS!


Join us on December 11th for a mini celebration featuring talks from all of the IPFS working groups: Core Implementation, Ecosystem, Web + GUI, and Bifrost, as well as special talks from guests including Textile, Pinata, 3Box, Berty, and Fleek!


2020 is finally becoming a banner year for IPFS. From the release of go-ipfs 0.5 to the improved DHT, to the launch of Testground and Filecoin and IPFS pinning services, it is worth celebrating!

IPFS Latest News


1. Less than four weeks after the mainnet launch, the Filecoin network has reached a major milestone. As of today, the global community of Filecoin miners has dedicated 1 exbibyte (EiB) of decentralized storage capacity to the Filecoin network. This is a huge achievement for the Filecoin network.


2. The Algorand blockchain provides a decentralized, scalable, and secure protocol, making it an excellent medium for sharing information, however, the current maximum note size for Algorand transactions is 1KB, limiting the amount of data transferred. Large files cannot be stored efficiently on the blockchain. On the one hand, the blockchain is filled with data that must be propagated within the blockchain network. On the other hand, since the blockchain is replicated on many nodes, a large amount of storage space is required without immediate purpose.


3. Slate is a new file-sharing network that allows people to collect, organize, and link files together.


4. The Internet is a resource that allows us to have vision and communicate all over the world. But the threat is high, cyber attacks and data collection are real threats and can hit our private and professional lives with devastating force. Today, it is not easy to reverse this trend, because the Internet has become a part of our daily life, so what we have to do is to make the data around us more secure and private.
