Riot, a US-listed mining company, invested $35 million to purchase 15,000 S19 mining machines

According to the official news of Riot Blockchain, a Nasdaq-listed mining company, the company has recently purchased 15,000 Bitmain Antminers, including 3,000 S19 Pro (110 TH) and 12,000 S19j Pro (100 TH), with a total cost of approximately US$35 million. It is reported that these mining machines will start shipping in May 2021 and the delivery time will last until October 2021. If the deployment time of the mining machines is included, the entire supply schedule may last until the fourth quarter of 2021. After the completion of this mining machine purchase transaction, it is expected that Riot's new generation of mining machines will reach 37,640 units, and its Bitcoin mining computing power will increase from 2.3 EH/s to 3.8 EH/s. Irene Gao, Bitmain’s Antminer Sales Director for the Americas, said, “We believe this additional purchase will not only enable Riot’s mining business to continue to grow, but also help it gain a more important position in the entire North American Bitcoin mining market.” Jeff McGonegal, CEO of Riot Blockchain, said, “Especially during a period of significant increase in Bitcoin spot prices, it is critical to expand the company’s Bitcoin mining computing power and maintain a high level of economic efficiency.”
