JPMorgan survey: 89% of institutional investors have not yet invested in cryptocurrencies

According to BlockBeats, on March 5, a survey by JPMorgan Chase showed that many institutional investors are unlikely to invest in cryptocurrencies.

International investment bank JPMorgan released the results of a survey of 3,400 investors from 1,500 institutions at its Macro Quantitative Conference on March 4, providing some reference for the investor community's views on cryptocurrencies.

The survey results suggest that cryptocurrencies’ reputation among investors is shifting toward greater legitimacy, but that cryptocurrencies have not lost the perception of risk and crime associated with them. Investors surveyed still appear to view cryptocurrencies as a risky investment area — a view that JPMorgan analysts have echoed in the past.

Nearly one in ten investor companies surveyed said they have invested in cryptocurrencies. Of those who have not invested in cryptocurrencies, 89% said they may invest in the field in the future, while the remaining 78% said they would not do so. That said, 58% of participants believe that cryptocurrencies "will continue to exist" and 7% believe that cryptocurrencies "will become one of the most important assets."

When asked about their views, 21% said cryptocurrency is a "temporary mania" and 14% believed it was "probably rat poison squared," a phrase used by famous investor Warren Buffett to describe his bearish stance on cryptocurrencies. 77% of respondents want regulators to enact stricter cryptocurrency regulations.
