Ethereum test chain SKALE completes the "Denali" mainnet upgrade, helping developers deploy high-throughput and gas-free Dapps

According to BlockBeats, on April 23, the Ethereum test chain SKALE network announced the completion of the "Denali" mainnet upgrade. 46 verification agencies and 153 nodes completed the upgrade. This is the first major upgrade since the launch of the Kilimanjaro mainnet on October 1.

As rising gas fees and congestion continue to hurt the growth of the Ethereum network, investors and developers are looking for fast, scalable, and secure decentralized solutions. To meet this demand, developers need access to a highly decentralized execution layer that will be tied to the Ethereum mainnet and leverage a large ecosystem of tools and technologies they are already familiar with. Developers want to provide their own Dapp-specific blockchain so they can get the flexibility they need to respond to user demand and growth expectations.

SKALE's Ethereum-native multi-chain architecture provides users with a fast, free/gas-free blockchain solution that can be deployed quickly and efficiently without having to learn any new tools. SKALE's latest network upgrade includes several key components. The most important is the ability to deploy Dapps with gas-free transactions, newly audited smart contracts, and advanced chain functions at extremely high throughput in half-second block times. It also includes the next phase of the SKALE network's modular framework, which will allow for greater configuration and upgrades of decentralized applications. Finally, the upgraded mainnet will support NFT development capabilities, and Dapps can create NFTs on the SKALE chain at no cost, and with billions of dollars in funding to support its security.

The goal of the SKALE Network is to bring Ethereum to billions of users around the world. SKALE's new modular architecture is a key upgrade that means developers will be able to have a greater impact on the Ethereum ecosystem. They will be able to leverage services from a variety of best-in-class providers such as oracles, bridges, and analytics. There are currently 130 developers on the SKALE innovation project, many of whom will begin more detailed work after the Denali upgrade. Major Dapps that have recently supported SKALE include Minds, collaboration. land, Bondly, Human Protocol, and CryptoCrusades, which represent a range of different use cases for SKALE.

Here’s what they had to say about the upgrade:

“We are very excited about the Denali upgrade as it will give us a free and open source social network. Obviously, creating a sustainable network that scales to billions of users is no easy task, and we believe that by using SKALE and Ethereum we can achieve the necessary throughput, security, and user experience. In the end, it’s about enabling our users to earn tokens for their contributions to the network in a cost-effective and efficient way, and this upgrade is a big step in that direction.” Bill Ottman, CEO and Founder of Minds.com

“Any time you’re dealing with community management, it’s important to provide a fast, secure, low- or no-cost experience to your users. SKALE’s Denali upgrade is particularly exciting because it allows for extremely fast block confirmation times with zero gas fees while keeping deployment simple and having high throughput. This is critical for collaboration. The multi-blockchain ecosystem that Land envisions can be scaled up or down as needed.” James Young, CEO Abridged.io, creator of Collab.Land.

“We’re looking forward to the SKALE Denali upgrades, especially the ultra-fast block times, fast results, and gas-free transactions. With our own Bondly-specific SKALE chain, we can facilitate the trading of NFTs and digital assets in the non-crypto world in the way investors expect.” Brandon Smith, CEO of Bondly

“SKALE is a complete game changer. We have our own Dapp-specific blockchain with high TPS and zero gas fees that allow us to use complex algorithms entirely on-chain. Powered by Ethereum and SKALE, CryptoCrusades is revolutionizing blockchain gaming with this deep on-chain gameplay.” Sherman Meredith, early crypto investor, crypto leader, game developer.

The SKALE Network is a community owned and run network, and validators play an important role in the operation and maintenance of the network. Key validators had this to say about today’s Denali network upgrade:

“It’s been exciting to operate the SKALE Network, which has grown to 153 nodes with over $2B in total value locked in just 6 months. The Denali upgrade is particularly exciting as a validator due to its extremely fast block times and its Dapp-specific multi-chain framework at a critical growth period for Ethereum. With its well-thought-out security model and incentives, SKALE will power many of the top Dapps in the year ahead,” said Konstantin Richter, CEO and Founder of Blockdaemon.

“SKALE’s Denali upgrade comes at an ideal time as the crypto space is shifting towards a multi-chain paradigm, with developers deploying and users using applications on different blockchains. From a validator perspective, the experience has been very smooth, and we believe Dapp-specific SKALE chains will help unleash a new wave of innovation.” Brian Fabian Crain, co-founder and CEO of Chorus One.

About SKALE

SKALE is an Ethereum-native multi-chain network that enables developers to easily provide their own Dapp-specific, fully decentralized blockchains. These SKALE chains can execute half-second block times, run very high TPS per chain, run full-state smart contracts, support decentralized storage, execute Rollups, and machine learning in the EVM.

The SKALE Network is an open source project with many contributors, including San Francisco-based SKALE Labs. Supporters of the SKALE Network include Arrington Capital, Blockchange, ConsenSys Labs, hash, HashKey, Floodgate, Multicoin Capital, Recruit Holdings, Signia VP, and Winklevoss Capital. The SKALE Network is supported by many of the world's top validators, including 01NODE, Ankr, Anonstake, Audit One, Blockdaemon, Blockware, Chainflow, Chainode, Chorus One, Cypher Core, Dokia Capital, Figment Networks, FreshSkale, hash x DELIGHT, Hashquark, stakes, Stakin, Stake With Us, WolfEdge Capital, and Stakes Facilities.
