Peter Wall, CEO of UK-listed cryptocurrency mining company Argo Blockchain, said he was pleased with his company's bitcoin mining profits in August and looked forward to continuing to create value for shareholders. The company earned £6.83 million from cryptocurrency mining in August, up from £4.6 million the previous month. Argo mined a total of 206 bitcoins or bitcoin equivalents in August, compared with 225 in July. The company said it mined 1,314 bitcoins in the first eight months of 2021. The mining profit margin in August was about 86%. In August, Argo sold a total of 61 bitcoins. Argo retains a total of 1,659 bitcoins, which is worth $82 million based on Friday's market price. It is reported that the company announced in mid-August that it has become the first publicly traded cryptocurrency miner and released a climate strategy to actively respond to climate change and other issues to achieve carbon neutrality. |
