The total locked amount of Bitcoin anchor coins exceeded 14 billion US dollars, setting a new record high

As the price of Bitcoin rose above $51,000, the total locked volume of Bitcoin-pegged coins also rose and set a record high.

According to the latest data, the total locked-in amount of Bitcoin-pegged coins has exceeded $14 billion, and it is $14.25 billion at the time of writing this article. Bitcoin-pegged coins are a special type of tokens issued on non-Bitcoin networks whose prices are anchored to native Bitcoin. The total issuance volume currently exceeds 275,000. The top three Bitcoin-pegged coins by locked-in amount are:

1. WBTC: 199,123 WBTC issued, with a locked amount of USD 10,312,516,421.

2. HBTC: 39,906 HBTC issued, with a locked amount of USD 2,066,737,980.

3. renBTC: 156,658 coins issued, locked-up amount of $810,907,064. According to Coingecko data, the current price of Bitcoin is $51,708.50, with a 24-hour increase of 5.6%.
