Starbucks, Pizza Hut and McDonald's Accept Bitcoin Payments in El Salvador

Bloomberg reported on September 8 that according to a statement by El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, restaurant companies including Starbucks and Pizza Hut are accepting customers to pay in Bitcoin after the country adopted Bitcoin as legal tender.

According to reports, the country's presidential secretariat said on Twitter that Tuesday was the first day that Bitcoin became legal tender in El Salvador, and consumers could pay for breakfast at McDonald's with Bitcoin. In addition, businesses must accept customers to pay for goods and services in Bitcoin, but merchants who are technically unable to accept this electronic currency are not subject to the law.
