Binance US appoints Ant executive Schroder as president

Binance’s U.S. arm has appointed former Ant Group and Uber executive Brian Shroder as president, replacing Brian Brooks, who abruptly resigned in August after just four months in the job.

Binance.US said Shroder will oversee the company’s strategy and execution, financing, business and corporate development, and manage the company’s legal, human resources, product and technology functions.
Brooks resigned a month ago citing “differences in strategic direction” at the cryptocurrency exchange, which has been plagued by regulatory issues around the world, with regulators in the UK, Japan, Hong Kong, Germany and Thailand also taking action over AML and consumer protection issues.
Shroder stressed in a statement that Binance.US has established itself as “compliant” and profitable, serving millions of customers.
During his nearly three years at Ant Group, Shroder has focused on developing and scaling the company’s operations and global partnerships. Prior to joining Ant, he was head of strategy and business development for Uber in the Asia Pacific region.
Shroder's brother Matt joined Binance in February 2020 as vice president of global expansion operations.
