Zhang Yong (pseudonym), an enthusiastic resident, said that on the afternoon of August 27, after learning about the constant noise in the underground garage in the community, he and another owner went to the second underground floor of Building 16 to check. Finally, on the east side of the elevator room, they found a room enclosed by multiple underground parking spaces. "That place is in a relatively hidden location in the underground garage, and most people would not go there. At that time, I could indeed hear a rumbling sound, and the wall was very hot when I touched it. I thought there must be a problem." By opening the exhaust fan shutter, Zhang Yong and his friends found that on the neatly arranged shelves inside, many machines were running. Judging from the situation they learned, at least more than 200 "Bitcoin" mining machines were working. "This is the Bitcoin mining machinery in operation, and the scale is not small." "In addition to this place, there is another commercial house with the same arrangement," another enthusiastic owner took the reporter to the storefront of Shop 216 in Building 11, where you can see that the door is closed, and through several ground exhaust vents, you can see that the house has similar storage shelves as those in the underground garage of Building 16. The enthusiastic owner said that these exhaust vents were originally blocked, and they were opened later because they felt suspicious. Now you can see that there are only empty containers inside.

At the same time, the relevant person in charge of the Bengshan District Government of Bengbu City who rushed to the scene said that it can be preliminarily determined that the blocking of underground parking spaces and such activities must have been carried out without approval, and the property management office, urban management department and police in the jurisdiction must fulfill their responsibilities and the closed site must be cleaned up and rectified on the evening of the 28th.
