Scroll raises another $50 million to teach you how to interact with the latest test network

The Ethereum expansion project Scroll has raised funds again! According to the project, it raised $50 million in this round of financing, and investors include Polychain Capital, Sequoia China, Bain Capital Crypto, Moore Capital Management, Variant Fund, Newman Capital, IOSG Ventures and Qiming Venture Partners. According to statistics, the project has raised $83 million in total, and its current valuation has reached $1.8 billion.

On February 28, scroll released a testnet version of its Ethereum Layer 2 network on the Goerli testnet, moving zk-EVM from pre-alpha to alpha testing, the final stage before the mainnet. It is reported that the new Alpha testnet on Goerli is completely permissionless and available for everyone to test. How does the new Alpha testnet on Goerli interact? First, you need to prepare your little fox wallet. As a second-layer network, the alpha test network is compatible with the Ethereum virtual machine, which means that any smart contract written on the Ethereum network can be deployed locally on Scroll zkEVM using the same set of tools.

You can set up the Scroll L2 network by visiting https://scroll.io/alpha and following the instructions on the Little Fox. On that page, just add the Goerli network to your Little Fox wallet.

Step 2: Get some Goerli ETH from a faucet. There are three faucets that can be used to get test coins:

1 https://goerlifaucet.com/ — This faucet gives 0.2 ETH every 24 hours. You need to register/login to Alchemy to get tokens.

2. https://goerli-faucet.pk910.de/——This PoW faucet can provide more ETH, but you need to keep the page open and work hard to mine ETH. According to a test by a Golden Finance reporter, based on the current computing power, about 0.02 ETH can be mined in one hour.

3. https://faucet.paradigm.xyz/——This faucet requires you to log in with Twitter, and there are certain requirements for the Twitter account to receive test coins. It must be registered for more than one month, have posted at least one tweet, and have 50 or more followers.

Unfortunately, during the reporter's testing, only the second channel could successfully receive the test coins, and the other two faucets failed to receive the coins. The second channel was still more friendly.

Step 3: After obtaining enough test ETH, bridge the accumulated ETH to the Scroll L2 test network. Go to the bridge interface - https://scroll.io/alpha/bridge and follow the instructions on the page to transfer some ETH to your address on the Scroll L2 test network.
