Illustration of the Six Luminaries of Face Reading

The so-called six stars are the left eye for the sun, the right eye for the moon, the root of the nose for the moon, the purple air for the brow, the left eyebrow for Rahu, and the right eyebrow for Ketu. The Six Yaos were originally the main celestial phenomena in the universe. Physiognomists matched them with parts of the human face or organs to predict people's destiny. Generally speaking, if the characteristics of the two coincide, it is a sign of good fortune; otherwise, it is a sign of misfortune and poverty.

Physiognomy Six Stars Diagram

The left eye is the sun and the right eye is the moon . The sun and the moon are the left and right eyes. The eyes are divided into the eye head, dragon palace, tear trough, eye white, eyeball, pupil, under-eye bags, fish tail, and treacherous gate. The eyes are the windows to the soul, and appearance is determined by the heart. This shows how important eyes are in physiognomy. People with good eye physiognomy will have power and good luck in their lives. If the physiognomy is not good, the marriage will be unhappy, the career will not be successful, and the fate will be bumpy. The eyes must be clearly divided into black and white, the pupils must be black and bright, the whites of the eyes must be white and bright, and the eyes must have expression, that is, reflect light like a mirror, for this is a good sign.
The eyes should be clearly black and white. Those with long and thin hair parted into the temples, more black eyes and less white, and a bright complexion, are born with the blessing of the Yin and Yang stars. Everything they do will go smoothly, and their family members will be noble. If there is more white than black, or yellow or red, the person has two trapped stars, which will cause harm to his parents, harm his wife, ruin his land and house, and he will suffer many disasters and be short-lived.
The poem says:
The sun and the moon are clearly the sun, and their spiritual radiance is generally strong. (sun)
If an official does not worship the prime minister of the dynasty, he should be promoted to the position of vice minister. (Left eye)
The sun and the moon peek through my red pupils, and I am alone and dewy, looking lifeless. (lunar)
Yin and Yang are dark and withered because of the knife, don’t wait for a long time before you end up with an evil end. (Right Eye)
[Modern translation] Taiyin and Taiyang refer to the eyes, and the white and black of the eyes should be clearly distinguished. The eyes are slender and straight to the temples, with more black eyelids than white, and they are full of spirit. Such people are born with the Moon and the Sun shining on them. They have smooth sailing in their work and their relatives are prominent. If there are fewer black pupils and more white pupils, and the eye color is yellow or red, this is the fall of the Moon and the Sun, which will cause harm to the parents, harm to the wife and children, ruin of the house, many disasters and a short life.
The general meaning of the poem is: Both the left eye and the right eye should be bright and lively. People with bright eyes will have great development and will become high officials. If one looks at the side with red veins flowing into the eyeballs, the eyeballs will be exposed, lifeless, and dark. One will be punished to death and will not have a good end and will not live long.
Shan Gen is Yue Bei
Yue Bei is Shan Gen. People with good Shan Gen are loyal and honest, and have a happy youth and childhood. People with bad Shan Gen will have unvirtuous descendants, no achievements in studies, unhappy youth and childhood, helpless spouse and poor health. The root of the mountain should be flat, high and wide, and it is auspicious if it has no texture or breaks. If the person's forehead is broken directly downwards, he will be affected by the Moon and the root of the mountain. It means that his descendants will be unlucky, and he will definitely suffer many disasters, fail in studies, lose his property, and harm his wife and children.
The poem says:
The moon should be high rather than low, and its brilliance is like colored glass.
An official must be loyal, and a high-ranking official must have a good wife.
If the Moon is narrow and pointed in the palace, the family will lose wealth early and suffer from troubles.
Being an official will not bring you honor and high salary, and a degree will bring you hardship in your life. (Root of the mountain)
【Jin Ze】The Moon's Betelgeuse refers to the root of the mountain. From the center of the forehead downwards, the root of the nose is not connected, but is broken and sunken. Such a person is blessed by the Moon and the Betelgeux. People with a sunken nose bridge will be unlucky in marriage, have unlucky descendants, suffer many disasters, fail in studying or learning a skill, and their family business will be ruined.
The general meaning of the poem is: The bridge of the nose should be high and not low, and should be clean and smooth, like glass. If you are an official, you will be a loyal minister and have a good wife. If the bridge of the nose is narrow and pointed, the family business will be ruined, career will be difficult, there will be no development as an official, and there will be many troubles.
Yin Tang is Purple Qi
Purple Qi star refers to Yin Tang. If the forehead is clear without straight lines and is round like a pearl, the owner will be noble; if it is white like silver, the owner will be very rich; if it is yellow, the owner will have food and clothing. If it is narrow and uneven, with hidden lines, it is unlucky. The person will have two or three children, who will not be able to help him, and will not have much salary, and his land and house will be damaged. People with good forehead physiognomy will have no shortage of food and clothing, are wise and generous, and can easily achieve their wishes in life. If the physiognomy is not good, they will not have a high salary, will have many villains and few noble people in their life, and will not have a leisurely life. The forehead should be broad and flat, round like a mirror, without any texture or punctures to be auspicious.
The poem says:
The Purple Qi Palace is wide and round, and the emperor who pays homage to him is a wise and virtuous person.
The Lan Tai Ting Wei came to respond, and the last official was prosperous and rich.
The Ziqi Palace is narrow and pointed, short and small, with no cheeks and even less beard.
I have had no real education since childhood, and my food and clothing are even more scarce. (Yintang)
[Current translation] The Purple Star refers to the Yin Tang. The forehead should be clear and distinct, without vertical lines, and shaped like a round pearl. Such a person will definitely be rich; if the forehead is silvery white, the person will be very rich; if the forehead is yellowish, the person will have no worries about food and clothing. If the forehead is narrow, uneven, and has faint wrinkles, it is unlucky. Such a person will be useless. He will have two or three sons, but they will be useless, and his land and houses will be damaged.
The general meaning of the poem is: If the forehead is broad and round and has a nose that echoes the orchid and celestial being, then one will be rich and hold an official position. If the forehead is narrow and short, there are no cheeks, and there is little beard on the chin, the person has no skills or knowledge, and his food and clothing will be poor.
The left eyebrow is Rahu and the right eyebrow is Ketu . Rahu and Ketu are the eyebrows. If one has thick black eyebrows that extend beyond the eyes to the temples, this is a sign of good fortune and wealth. One's children, parents, and relatives will all be noble. These two stars will enter one's fate. If the eyebrows are connected and the yellow-red color is shorter, it means that many relatives and children will die a violent death. People with good physiognomy have kind natures, prominent relatives, virtuous wives and filial children, and no worries about food and clothing. People with bad physiognomy have bad personalities, weak ties with relatives, more misfortunes than good luck in life, and no help from brothers. The eyebrows are divided into five parts: the eyebrow head, the middle of the eyebrow, the eyebrow corner, the eyebrow center, and the eyebrow tail. The eyebrows must be longer than the eyes, the color should be moist, the eyebrows should grow smoothly close to the skin, the eyebrows should not grow too low, the eyebrows should not grow straight up, and the eyebrows should not invade the forehead. This is a good eyebrow shape.
The poem says:
Luo Ji Star God is tall and handsome, and clearly corresponds to the three yangs close to the skin. (Zero Luo)
Not only did he hold an official position with such appearance, but his kindness and justice were also well-known far and wide.
Luohou has sparse bones and is tall. He is impatient, aggressive and violent. (Eyebrow)
The wicked look like weeping willows, and the brothers have spiral hairs. (Right)
[Current translation] Rahu and Ketu refer to eyebrows. The eyebrows are thick, black and long, exceeding the eyes and going straight into the temples. This is the face of an official. The children and parents are both of noble status, and the relatives are also wealthy. This is the Luo Ji star in the life. If the two eyebrows are connected, their color is yellow-red, and they are short, the children will die in a sudden disaster.
The general meaning of the poem is: the left eyebrow is delicate, long, and distinct, close to the Sanyang area. Such an appearance is not only for being an official, but also for being kind and loyal to others, and a good name will be spread. The left eyebrow is sparse and the eyebrow bone is high. This person has an impatient, violent and rude temper. People with eyebrows like weeping willows are treacherous, and people with spiral eyebrows have some brothers.
Gongdu's physiognomy method says: The diagram of the six stars is often used to verify the complexion, so I have compiled it now. The Moon should not break through, and the eyebrows should not be bullied. If they are bullied, the six relatives will be harmed. The color should be purple and yellow, which represents official rank. Avoid darkness, which represents danger and loss. The two stars of Luo Ji should not be in dark colors, otherwise they will lead to danger and damage. If the Sun and the Moon are in the sign of blue or black, they will cause crying or illness. The left side is male and the right side is female. The two stars of Mingmen are responsible for diseases and if one is black it means kidney failure and death.
