All things sprout and grow in spring, and the trine represents wood. Si, Wu and Wei are the fourth, fifth and sixth months of the lunar calendar. In summer, everything blooms luxuriantly and the weather is hot. The trinity represents fire. Shen, You and Xu are the seventh, eighth and ninth months of the lunar calendar in autumn. In autumn, everything matures and the weather is austere. The triad represents gold. Hai, Zi and Chou are the winter of the eleventh month of the lunar calendar. In winter, all things are stored and return to the ground. Ice and snow cover the ground. The triad represents water.
