The seven gates are two treacherous gates, two que gates, two life gates and one courtyard. The two instruments are: a round head imitates the sky, and square feet resemble the earth. The sky wants to be high, and the earth wants to be thick. If the head is small and the feet are thin, the person is poor and humble. If all seven gates are good, the person is noble. In a word, the forehead is the sky, the chin is the earth, the nose is the person, the left eye is the sun, and the right eye is the moon. The sky wants to be open, the earth wants to be square, the person wants to be deep and broad, and the sun and the moon want to be bright. Those with good sky are noble, those with good earth are rich, those with good people live long, and those with good sun and moon are prosperous.

The upper lip represents the sky, representing the nobility and humbleness of the parents; the middle lip represents people, representing the wives, benevolence and righteousness; the lower lip represents the earth, representing the fields, houses, slaves, livestock and food.

If the cheekbones are prominent and the complexion is moist, it is a sign of the ninth grade.

Again, the waist and abdomen are well-proportioned, the buttocks are thick and strong, and the person looks high and walks broadly. These are the signs of a person of the ninth grade. The complexion should be thick and heavy, and the waist should be broad and long. Therefore, the scriptures say: A face like a cucumber means wealth and glory; white like a cut finger, black like lacquer; purple like chess pieces; the waist should be broad and long, and the belly should be like a hanging bag. Those who walk like geese and turtles are all rich and noble people, including those who are dukes, marquises, generals, and below, regardless of their rank.

A child with auxiliary bones and a slightly pointed nose is a marquis of the eighth rank. It is also said that those with a slightly plump chest and back, moist hands and feet, and an upright body and even steps are all eighth-grade marquises; those with a broad, straight and long nose, a plump chest and spleen like a tortoise, and red and white hands and feet are all wealthy and noble people; therefore, the classics say: hands and feet like cotton mean wealth and nobility in the end, and thick hands and feet mean a good standing envoy will be by your side.

If the auxiliary corners form edges and the warehouses are all flat, he is a marquis of the seventh rank. It is also said that a man with a thick chest, a thick neck, and a well-balanced buttocks, and a steady tone of voice, is a marquis of the seventh rank. The man's neck must be thick and short, his arms must be long and slender, and his voice must be as melodious as a phoenix. These are all signs of nobility. The Sutra says: The ox is big and strong in all directions, which means wealth and prosperity; the tiger's head is high and standing, which means unparalleled wealth and honor; the elephant's trunk is high and wide, which means long-lasting blessings and fortune; the rhinoceros head is the ruler, which means wealth and honor will be bestowed with a title; the camel's head is huge, which means good fortune and luck will be bestowed upon it; the tiger walks like a general, and the wild geese walk like a line, which means great wealth.

The horns of rhinoceros and Sikong dragon are slender and straight, which is a sign of the third grade. It is also said that those with extremely thick chest and back, deep and pointed head, and those with strong will and weak figure. These are all marquises of the third rank; Sikong is from the hairline directly below, next to the forehead, and the dragon horn is above the eyebrows.

The head is high and deep, and those who have achieved the Dragon Rhinoceros are signs of the second grade. It is also said that those with unusually raised forehead corners, well-proportioned limbs and joints, and a calm temperament are marquises of the second rank; those with a generous appearance, vast manners, a clear and refreshing spirit, and a calm demeanor; those who speak carefully, neither too fast nor too slow, and have regular movements and breaths, neither frivolous nor impatient, and neither happy nor angry without reason; those who have a balanced expression on their faces and emotions, and those who have all these are said to have excess spirit; those who obtain a noble position, have all four warehouses full, and have bright bones, flesh and horns are all marquis of the first rank. Those with a good head and neck, all well-developed joints, beautiful appearance and figure, and clear gaze, are all marquises of the first rank.

Those who resemble dragons are civil officials, those who resemble dragons are noble, and those who walk like dragons are the three highest officials. Those who resemble tigers are generals, those who walk like tigers are generals, and those who tame horses with high bones are generals.

Those who resemble dogs may be honest officials and become governors. Those who resemble monkeys may be very rich and noble. Those who resemble rats may only be wealthy. All those who are called similar are called dynamic and static. If they resemble only one thing, they are poor.

The one in the sky is the master of noble family and full of ancestry, which represents official rank and salary. The highest point in the sky is near the hairline. The one with yellow upper horn is the highest and widest, which represents the emperor's promotion to an official or governor. The yellow color is like the sun and the moon, which are on the left and right of the sky waiting for the emperor. The one with yellow color that is round, big and bright in the sky represents the emperor's sudden appearance. After years of meritorious service, one will be awarded a title, and there will be yellow aura like hanging bells and drums, which represents the appearance of the Three Dukes. If there is also yellow aura like a dragon, one will also be awarded a title. The official aura of the four seasons emanates from the sky, like the light of a mirror, which represents the appearance of sudden nobleness.

If the color of Zhongzheng is good and the next to Sikong is good, his position will be promoted. If the color of Zhongzheng is red and clear in Sikong, he will be a county official in Zhongzheng, a county official in Da Ting, a prefecture official in Da Ting, or a Shangshu in Lantai, depending on his department.
