Putin says virtual currencies can be used in limited ways

Bitcoin prices fluctuated more sharply in the Asian session on Wednesday (July 15). Following yesterday's surge and fall, market volatility increased significantly.

The quotes released by BITSTAMP show that Bitcoin/ USD (XBT/USD) rose to 296 yesterday, but then continued to fall back, falling below 288 in the early trading of this trading day. However, there was another wave of high-rise and fall in the Asian trading session of this trading day (rebounded to 291 at one point), and it is now trading around 289.

The quotes released by KRAKEN show that Bitcoin/ Euro (XBT/EUR) surged to above 267 yesterday, and then retreated to below 261. In this trading day, it surged to above 264 in the Asian session, but fell back to below 262 again.

The volatility of Bitcoin prices has increased significantly recently. Previously, the Asian market was usually one-sided. The Greek issue has come to an end for the time being, which has reduced the market demand for Bitcoin. Under the game between long and short positions, the price of Bitcoin has been jumping up and down.

However, in terms of industry news, Bitcoin received positive news. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that virtual currency can be used in a limited manner.

Additionally, Spanish BTM provider Bitchain announced that it had established the first two-way Bitcoin automated teller machine (BTM) in Greece on July 11. The BTM processed 25 transactions with a total of €2,000 on the second day of its installation.
