Li Ka-shing invests in Bitcoin payment startup BitPay

Clearly, investors are trying to find another way to make money from the volatile Bitcoin trading besides mining.

On December 27, the Hong Kong South China Morning Post reported that Asia's richest man, Li Ka-shing, has invested in a US bitcoin payment company called BitPay through his venture capital firm, Horizons Ventures. However, he did not disclose the details of the investment.

It is understood that BitPay was founded in May 2011 and has transactions with 14,000 companies in 200 countries around the world, 50% of which are in the United States, 25% in Europe, and 25% in other regions.

Since December this year, regulatory agencies in China, the United States, the European Union, South Korea and other countries have successively issued warnings and taken measures to prevent possible risks of Bitcoin. At present, the price of Bitcoin in China is around 3,800 yuan, which has shrunk by half compared with the peak of 7,395 yuan in early December.
