Stanford University in California, USA, has already entered the cryptocurrency arena with a program called “Cryptocurrency: Bitcoin and Friends” which will be launched in September this year. The new course will be taught by Dan Boneh, a professor in Stanford University's School of Computer Science and Engineering. The professor, who has vouched for cryptocurrencies, said: “The technology behind cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin can become an indispensable tool for protecting information.” The course will also help those who are willing to enter the world of cryptocurrency but have been hesitant due to lack of knowledge. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are indeed key to revolutionizing commercial payments, but the solution needs to be improved before it can help protect the privacy and digital assets. To provide more information to enthusiasts, a webinar has been scheduled for August 25th from 10 to 11 am. The webinar will attempt to parse recent developments in the world of cryptocurrency and computer security. Boneh is an expert in cybersecurity at Stanford University and a seasoned veteran himself. He is also the co-director of Stanford University's Computer Security Lab and participated in the 2015 White House Cybersecurity and Consumer Protection Summit. The program also includes other online courses: 1. Computer and Network Security 2. Introduction to Computer Networks 3. Introduction to Encryption Technology 4. Operating Systems and System Programming 5. Technology and National Security |
