Hong Kong star Pang Weihua issued a four-point statement on the Mycoin fraud case

The 48-year-old Hong Kong star Peng Weihua, who won the Golden Bell Award for Best Supporting Actor, was recently accused of illegally raising NT$600 million in Taiwan with Bitcoin. Yesterday, he held a press conference accompanied by his lawyer Pan Zhaowei, showing the residence permit he received in Taiwan on July 20 to prove that he has no criminal record. Thinking of his parents who just passed away in Hong Kong and his relatives and friends who are worried about him, Peng Weihua couldn't help crying: "I hope to send my mother off on September 6th, not to let her worry, and to tell my friends that I am really fine."

    In February, the Bitcoin trading platform "Mycoin" in Hong Kong collapsed, causing about 3,000 Hong Kong people to lose at least 3 billion Hong Kong dollars. The "Weekly King" published in May revealed that Peng Weihua came to Taiwan last year as the CEO of Mycoin to promote Bitcoin investment, and used methods such as hosting luxury cruise tours and giving away luxury cars to attract investors. Therefore, not only Hong Kong people were harmed, but also at least 150 Taiwanese people were harmed, with a total amount of 600 million Taiwan dollars.

    Peng Weihua and his lawyer issued a four-point statement yesterday: 1. After the Bitcoin fraud and money-sucking case broke out in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong police publicly stated that there was no suspect with the surname Peng; 2. Peng Weihua obtained a work permit in Taiwan in May this year and a residence permit in July, proving that he has no criminal record; 3. Peng Weihua enters and leaves Hong Kong and Taiwan normally and has not been investigated by judicial authorities, which proves his innocence; 4. The media's insinuation that Peng Weihua was involved in a Bitcoin fraud case is seriously inconsistent with the facts, has defamed and seriously damaged Peng Weihua's reputation, and the company will reserve the right to pursue legal action.

    Peng Weihua further pointed out yesterday that he was not the CEO, but was only responsible for hosting the event. He never participated in the promotion activities and did not invite anyone to participate in the cruise activities. He said that he started to host the company in May last year, and resigned from the company in November last year because he was busy with other work. The company's vicious closure in February this year had nothing to do with him: "I am also a victim, because my greatest asset is the reputation represented by the five words "KK Peng Weihua".

   In fact, Peng Weihua is currently in mourning. His father passed away on June 22 due to laryngeal cancer, and his mother also passed away on August 6 due to illness. He said: "What makes me saddest is that my family and friends are worried about me." He couldn't help crying when he thought of his parents who passed away one after another. "At my father's farewell ceremony, relatives and friends did not ask me to mourn, but asked me about Bitcoin. So I hope to send my mother off properly and let her not worry." He also wants to tell his friends: "I'm really fine."

Peng Weihua came to Taiwan in 1989 to develop his career. In 1993, he won the Golden Bell Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in "The Story of Empress Dowager Cixi". In 2000, he introduced egg tarts, which caused a long queue. In 2003, after hosting the China Broadcasting Corporation's "Seven Mouths and Eight Tongues Hala La", he withdrew from the entertainment industry and focused on business. In the past few years, Peng Weihua has opened an ice cream shop, a restaurant, and also dabbled in real estate and sold insurance funds, with both gains and losses.
