A new Bitcoin micropayment tool is now available on the market, targeting the global freelance and on-demand service market. The tool, called Faradam (named after inventor Michael Faraday), uses a simple timer to facilitate payments between two parties. It caters to freelancers who want to use a service that requires only their name, hourly rate and a Bitcoin address. These people want a short-term service and only need to receive a link and connect a wallet. The project was founded by Demian Brener, a former senior business analyst at Quasar Ventures, and has three full-time employees and is based in Argentina. Given the region’s high rate of Bitcoin adoption, Brener believes Faradam can have a big impact, he told “Right now, we are focusing our efforts mainly on international freelancers who like Bitcoin and charge their clients in Bitcoin. In Argentina, we don’t have tools like PayPal, so it’s difficult for freelancers to collect fees from the U.S.” |
