Blocktrail launches new Bitcoin wallet, claims to ensure real security of users' Bitcoin

Recently, Blocktrail launched its first Bitcoin wallet to the market. Although the Bitcoin wallet market is highly competitive, Blocktrail is very confident in its new wallet because it can truly solve the issue that users are most concerned about - the security of their coins.

Blocktrail detailed the key features of the wallet on its official blog. Not only does the wallet use multi-signature technology to increase security, it also has cross-platform functionality and only allows the wallet owner to access the wallet's private key. The company said this means that regardless of any security issues, Bitcoin will stay safely in the user's wallet.

"If Blocktrail gets hacked or raided by the government or Blocktrail's servers magically disappear, don't worry, your bitcoins are still safe because our wallets don't touch your bitcoins directly. This is different from most other bitcoin wallets, which usually only act as a safekeeping role for users' bitcoins, and the security of the coins is handed over to insurance companies. Blocktrail's wallet can do this because transactions are signed on the client side of the user's browser or mobile device, not on Blocktrail's servers, and because of the design of Bitcoin itself, we can't manipulate transactions before they are broadcast. Centralized bitcoin wallets put people's funds at risk, so our wallet is exactly what people need."

The cross-platform feature allows users to use the wallet via the Internet and mobile phones. No matter where you are or how you trade, the wallet will always be synchronized between devices. Users can download the wallet in the Apple App Store.

Although Bitcoin's tracking record is not always satisfactory and is not enough to gain full trust from users, Blocktrail CTO鲁本•德•弗里斯said that consumers are still looking forward to financial alternatives such as Bitcoin, so he hopes that this new wallet can help promote Bitcoin into the mainstream consumer market.

In an interview with TechCrunch, Ruben de Vries said:

“My favorite Bitcoin motto is ‘Be your own bank.’ People are entering the Bitcoin space at a pace that is no longer constrained by banks.”

波阿斯•比沙, co-founder and CEO of Blocktrail, said:

“People in the Bitcoin community know Blocktrail, so we have a user base. But as far as Bitcoin itself is concerned, users don’t need to trust us and can use our wallet with confidence. We can’t run away with users’ Bitcoin. Even if we disappear one day, users can still use this app to restore their wallets. This is what makes us unique from other wallet companies.”

The Blocktrail wallet has a P2P Bitcoin payment function, so users can send or receive Bitcoin to others no matter where they are. Users can also use the Blocktrail wallet in any store that accepts Bitcoin. In addition, Blocktrail also detailed on the official blog how this wallet makes it easier to send Bitcoin and how to send Bitcoin to people who don’t have a QR code.

“We’ve made our wallet as user-friendly as possible, so users don’t have to use long Bitcoin addresses when transacting. When you want to send Bitcoin to your friends, you no longer have to email them to ask for their Bitcoin address. You can find their phone number in your phone address book, enter an amount, and click ‘send’. Our wallet can automatically create a new Bitcoin address for your friend and bind it to the verified phone number.”

So what’s the most amazing thing about this wallet? Blocktrail said that this new wallet uses HD wallet technology, which can ensure that users’ bitcoins are stored safely and give users full ownership.

“We think it’s important to have a wallet that gives users real control over their bitcoin.”
