Bitmain Ant Bitcoin Router R1 Trial Notes

In September 2015, Bitmain released its first router and Bitcoin mining product, ANTROUTER Ant Router R1. The R1 product began to be developed at the end of 2014. After repeated trial production and software and hardware improvements, it took a year to finally be released. This is the first Bitcoin IoT product launched by Bitmain. Recently, a foreign Bitcoin manufacturer released a Bitcoin computer, which is not yet perfect from the appearance of the product. The launch of this router mining product by Bitmain is an important step in combining Bitcoin with other hardware products.

Antminer R1 has the following functions: Bitcoin mining machine with a computing power of 5.5GH/s; router and AP functions with a transmission speed of 150M; fast USB charger that can charge mobile phones and tablets; Bitcoin mining host that can carry multiple Antminer U3s through a USB HUB.

The pure white packaging box is very small and exquisite, with the word ANTROUTER printed on it.

Open the top cover and you can see the bilingual Chinese and English manual of the Ant Router R1.

Remove the instruction manual and you can see the R1 router, which is pure black and made of aluminum alloy.

On the side of the mining machine, there are Ethernet and USB interfaces, the status lights are BTC mining and WIFI indicators, and a RESET button is provided. Press and hold for 5 seconds to reset.

The side is printed with the Bitmain logo and barcode, as well as the router IP, login password, SSID and MAC address.

After powering on, turn on the computer WIFI search after 30 seconds, and you will find the SSID name of the AntRoute-mac address. There is no password and you can connect directly. Enter r1.bm, which is actually http://192.168.200.1, and you will enter the login page of the Ant Router R1. Users familiar with Antminers will be most familiar with this interface. From the default homepage of the router, you can find that R1 is based on the Open-WRT system. This routing system is very powerful and can realize various functions, such as wireless relay.

Next, we click NetWork-WiFi, click edit, enter the following interface, modify the default name of the router, encryption method, and password. After saving, the router automatically restarts.

Enter R1 again, click Miner, fill in the Bitmain registered email address, and you can start mining. As you can see from the figure below, the mining speed is 5.45GH/s.

Log in to www.antpool.com Ant Mining Pool. You can see the words Ant Router after logging in. R1 adopts SOLO mining mode. Once a block is mined, you can get 25BTC (1% handling fee). Antpool provides a mining points function, but the function of the points has not yet been announced. If you do not want to use the solo mode, you need to log in to the mining machine through SSH and change the relevant files to achieve it.

The Antminer Router is used as a mining host and is connected to a U3 via a USB HUB for testing (even if a U3 is included, a HUB must be used).

Through the control interface, we can see that when using antpool for mining, the U3 computing power is 63G.
