Mexican Retailer Famsa Announces Acceptance of Bitcoin Payments

Bitcoin House News, October 24th , Latin American e-commerce website Famsa announced that it will accept online Bitcoin payments.

The company, which was founded in 1970 and sells a variety of consumer goods and electronics in the United States and Mexico, is now accepting bitcoin payments through a partnership with Atlanta-based bitcoin payments company BitPay .

The news follows the announcement last month by MercadoLibre – the eBay of Latin America – that it had integrated a bitcoin payment option, having inked a partnership agreement with BitPagos and Entrepids to allow online stores to accept the currency.

While the number of merchants accepting bitcoin is declining — many merchants report generally disappointing sales of bitcoin options — these people appear to be bucking the trend.

Gaming and adult entertainment are simply spaces where men are more appealing - the young and the tech-ape.

Meanwhile, grocery services Gyft and Overstock have had a strong showing in accepting bitcoin for goods , revealing in March that best-selling items for bitcoin payments included bed sheets and furniture.
