It is no longer possible to fake academic qualifications! Blockchain company Bitproof joins hands with schools to verify the authenticity of academic qualifications

Blockchain technology continues to appear in various fields.

In the field of education, we have seen that many universities have opened digital currency courses some time ago, including Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Princeton University.

However, some schools are now using blockchain technology to ensure the authenticity of graduation certificates. Just like the music industry's previous attempts to use blockchain technology to protect music copyrights, this is a new development trend.

Holberton School, a school that trains software engineers, has announced that it will use the Bitcoin blockchain to issue academic certificates to its students.

The school is taking this exploration so seriously that it has partnered with Bitproof, a blockchain startup that specializes in document authentication using blockchain technology.

The school also became the first in the world to use blockchain technology to record academic qualifications. This practice has been appreciated by some recruitment companies. According to a survey by HireRight, an international company that provides background checks, about 86% of the employers surveyed said they found many applicants with fake academic qualifications.

Haggerty, a recruiter from CoreOS, agrees with most recruiters that academic fraud is a widespread problem because it is very easy to forge academic diplomas and certificates.

鲁信•杜蒙特, founder of Bitproof and an expert in blockchain technology, said that blockchain is the perfect solution to this problem.

“As we all know, blockchain is used to store Bitcoin transactions because it is a decentralized, verifiable, tamper-proof storage system.”

Therefore, in his opinion, blockchain can naturally be used to store academic certificates.

Co-founder of Hoberton School   Sylvain Kalache   Convinced of this, he said: “Blockchain technology is the future of document authentication, and in the next few years, more schools will use blockchain to ensure the authenticity of academic certificates and diplomas.”

Kalache also said,

“Blockchain verification is more efficient, more secure and simpler than any other verification method you can find in the industry today.”
