Bitcoin startup BitOasis is expanding in the Middle East

Dubai-based bitcoin startup BitOasis is expanding its bitcoin wallet and exchange services across the Middle East.

Co-founder Ola Doudin told CoinDesk the expansion is in response to growing demand for bitcoin in Gulf countries such as Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar, where users are asking for BitOasis to become an alternative platform for purchasing digital currencies.

Doudin claims that the company has close to 20,000 users and plans to expand to Saudi Arabia and Egypt in the future. The company is seeking to break through the existing business model and provide more products and services, aiming to get more merchants and businesses to accept Bitcoin.

Doudin said in an email:

We hope to add more features to support merchants and SMEs to accept and use Bitcoin through partnerships with traditional payment companies in the region and launch our new mobile app service.

The company launched its bitcoin wallet and bitcoin trading services in May this year.
