Bitcoin China appoints Wang Lidong as CTO

     On October 21, 2015, BTCC (formerly known as Bitcoin China), the world's longest-running Bitcoin exchange, announced that Mikael Wang would serve as its CTO.

     Mikael Wang led the team to develop all of BTCC's cryptocurrency security solutions. In the future, he will lead BTCC to continue to optimize and expand its comprehensive digital currency services using the latest technologies.

     Wang Lidong has always been a software engineer who leads innovation. While still studying for a degree in computer science in his hometown of Sweden, he started a popular IT consulting agency. After completing his master's degree, he joined Ericsson and developed a cloud computing system for cars. After moving to China, he learned about Bitcoin in early 2013 and immediately started his mining career in Shanghai. In April 2013, he met BTCC CEO Bobby Lee while attending a lecture on cryptocurrency and became a member of the founding team of BTCC.

     "Wang Lidong is a rare talent. His leadership and innovative abilities will lead BTCC, the world's leading Bitcoin financial platform, to new heights," said Li Qiyuan.

     Wang Lidong’s main task in the near future will be to provide the best solutions and technical support for BTCC’s further international expansion. In September this year, the original Bitcoin China was renamed BTCC, and it actively expanded into the international market with BTCC as its brand.

     “As our business and operations are expanding, we need someone as motivated and capable as Wang Lidong to lead the technical team,” said Miao Yongquan, COO of BTCC. “In the few months that he has worked with Wang Lidong, we have more than doubled our engineering team and are preparing to develop several major products and projects that will soon be launched on the market.”

     Wang Lidong said he is ready to lead the BTCC technical team to respond to customer needs and develop innovative and high-quality solutions.

     “I am very happy and excited to become the CTO of BTCC,” said Wang Lidong. “We are introducing the latest network technology and providing the best experience for users; we will work hard to maintain BTCC’s position as the world’s leading Bitcoin company.”

     Wang Lidong received his bachelor's degree in computer engineering from Chalmers University of Technology and his master's degree in mobile information technology from Gothenburg University of Information Technology, both in Sweden. Wang Lidong was previously the director of software development at BTCC and joined BTCC after working as a certified solution architect at Ericsson in Sweden for five years.
