Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of Bitcoin

The Economist's evaluation of Satoshi Nakamoto:

In November 2008, Satoshi Nakamoto published a technical paper stating that he was creating a peer-to-peer electronic payment system called Bitcoin. Cryptography is used to control transactions and limit the total amount of currency. Unlike most currencies, Bitcoin is not issued and supervised by a central authority or government. Bitcoin is issued by volunteer members of a peer-to-peer network. (Mr. Nakamoto's identity has never been revealed, and he stopped participating in the development of Bitcoin in 2010)

Some users believe the digital currency has great value, like gold. Others like its ability to be traded across borders without the involvement of banks. The number of websites and merchants accepting bitcoin payments is growing, and there are many startups hoping to turn it into a universal digital payment system, similar to the underlying protocol of the Internet. Even if it doesn't achieve that goal, bitcoin has the potential to create a decentralized, peer-to-peer currency.

In addition, The Economist also published an article yesterday titled "Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?" It is reported that this is also the first award won by Satoshi Nakamoto.
