Ripple's presentation at the Money 20/20 Summit

Last week, Ripple attended the Money 20/20 summit in Las Vegas, where Ripple co-founder and CEO克里斯•拉尔森participated in a panel discussion on specific applications of distributed ledger technology.

The session, Financial Applications of Distributed Ledger Technology: Case Studies and Methods, was moderated by CoinDesk CEO Jeremy Bonney and included the following speakers:

Here are some highlights from the conference:

Experience is the best way to learn.

Chris:

We found that working with banks like TD Bank and RBC, we learned a lot about the skills needed for two-way communication, especially in a tumultuous environment, and what makes the technology important or too broad.
In terms of cross-border payments, there is still a lot of room for improvement in cooperation with banks.

Jenny:

TD Bank is one of the largest banks in North America, and what's unique about our bank is that we have a huge cross-border payment demand. We have as many branches in the United States as we do in Canada. So we noticed Ripple. They were the only player in the world that really surpassed Bitcoin 16 months ago.
Distributed ledger technology needs to address specific banking use cases.

Adam:

Bitcoin doesn’t really solve the problems of banks. Not because it’s scary or adversarial, but simply because it’s not designed to solve the problems that financial institutions face in handling everyday transactions.

Ripple’s advantage is compatibility.

Eddy:

We noticed Ripple and realized the benefits of establishing a standardized protocol among global banks, so that we can achieve compatibility, improve efficiency and establish more different business models in a simple way.
