Fidelity Investments' charitable arm announces acceptance of Bitcoin

Fidelity Charitable, the charitable arm of US asset management giant Fidelity Investments, has announced that donors can now donate to the charity using Bitcoin.

Fidelity Charitable had more than 63,000 donor-advised fund accounts in 2014, with about $16,000 in contributions, according to the organization’s most recent annual report.

In the statement, Fidelity Charitable Senior Vice President马修•纳什stressed that the move was intended to get more people involved in charitable giving.

This is the first time that Fidelity has publicly announced its acceptance of Bitcoin. Recently, a representative from Fidelity Labs also mentioned the “emerging applications of blockchain technology” during a speech at Cardozo Law School.
