Bank of America applies for 11 cryptocurrency patents, seeking to build a cryptocurrency network

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has recently published 10 patent applications submitted by Bank of America in June last year.

The application list includes patents such as "real-time conversion system", "cryptocurrency transaction payment system", "cryptocurrency suspicious user alert system", "offline storage application", "risk detection" and "transaction verification".

Bank of America has filed 11 cryptocurrency-related patent applications so far, suggesting the company may be looking to build a fully realized cryptocurrency network, or at least a concept. The last published patent application for Bank of America was for a cryptocurrency wire transfer system in September.

It is reported that the bank is also one of the 42 banking institutions participating in the R3CEV blockchain consortium.

Bank of America did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
