Moe Levin was interviewed about the 2016 North American Bitcoin Conference in Miami and stated that Patrick Byrne will be speaking at this year's conference. Moe Levin, organizer of the North American Bitcoin Conference, has lined up a strong lineup of speakers for the 2016 conference. This year, Patrick Byrne, Ton Weiss, Qiyuan Lee, Jerry Brito, and others will present a packed conference. The 2016 conference will be held on January 21st and 22nd . The North American Bitcoin Conference is one of the largest events in the Bitcoin space, and many people attend the conference just to see the big names in the Bitcoin space in person. In the past, Bitcoin tycoons like Jeffrey Tucker, Tony Gallipe, and Vitaly Buterin have all spoken at the Miami conference. In fact, Buterin made history back in 2014 by speaking about his Ethereum project at the North American Bitcoin Conference. Bitcoinist caught up with Moe Levin to talk about this year’s event and what we can expect from this monumental conference. The North American Bitcoin Conference has come full circle and will be held in Miami on January 21 and 22. What are your expectations for this year's conference? This conference is undoubtedly the most important event of the year for us and many others in this field. Miami conference gives us the opportunity to reflect on the previous year and set topics and directions for the next year. I look forward to Patrick Byrne's speech at the conference this year. This is his first time attending the conference, and I am particularly looking forward to his views on using blockchain technology to increase transparency. In addition, I am also looking forward to seeing old friends and new friends reunited to share their experiences in the past year and work together to create a better tomorrow. What changes have you seen in the past year that have impacted Bitcoin and its related conferences? Developers and companies are still struggling to agree on the direction of bitcoin. While there’s no quick fix, Scaling Bitcoin attendees are working to sift through the right people to discuss these difficult issues. From a conference perspective, 2015 was definitely not as exciting as 2014. In 2014, it seemed like there was a conference every other week, and it was probably all about the pressure and the high price of Bitcoin. In 2015, Bitcoin conferences sometimes seemed a bit bleak, and I think the message was that people would rather spend more time researching their own products, rather than wasting time traveling, negotiating partnerships, and exploring new and alternative ideas. I hope that in 2016 Bitcoin will develop steadily, with more cooperation and sunshine.
Patrick Byrne and Qiyuan Li lead a diverse line-up of speakers. Which speakers are you most looking forward to this year? As mentioned above, Patrick Byrne is a speaker and pioneer in many different areas. Qiyuan Li will also be speaking at this year's conference and will bring his own unique and important perspectives on the Chinese ecosystem and development. We have a large mining panel, including Marco Strom from Genesis Miners , who is continuing to innovate and scale his operations. J. Morris from Private Internet Access is one of the smartest CTOs in this field, and I am looking forward to his speech on security and how to protect one's privacy online. That is a speech that everyone should listen to. What are your thoughts on the convergence of blockchain technology and fintech over the past year? I think this is a natural convergence of maturity. We don't know how long this convergence will last, so it's best to remain open and collaborative and support projects that can deliver on some of Bitcoin's original promise. I'm most hopeful that some remittance startups will use Bitcoin as their backend so that Bitcoin can really shine in 2016. Are there any launches this year that you’re excited about? I wish I could share with you at least three of the great new product launches that took place in Miami. What issues do you want to discuss that we didn't touch on? Bitcoinist.net and bitcoin.com It is the best Bitcoin and cryptocurrency news platform online and will continue to be so! Thanks to Moe for talking with us. The Miami Bitcoin Conference is trying to make this year’s event as exciting as last year’s. Moe teased that the press conferences at this event should also inject some life into the usually conservative conference and exhibition. We are located near the conference venue, so Bitcoinist will bring you some interviews with attendees and live coverage of the event.
