Romit shuts down Bitcoin service after another shock

The quotes released by BITSTAMP show that Bitcoin/US dollar (XBT/USD) fluctuated downward from 420 to 405 yesterday, and further fell below 400 in the Asian session of this trading day.

The quotes released by KRAKEN show that Bitcoin/Euro (XBT/EUR) fluctuated downward from above 390 to around 375 yesterday, and further fell below 370 in the Asian session of this trading day.

The quotes released by Huobi.com show that Bitcoin/CNY fell from 2835 to around 2715 yesterday, and further fell to 2610 in the Asian session of this trading day.

On the industry front, Romit, a remittance service that grew out of Bitcoin ATM developer Robocoin, announced it is shutting down its Bitcoin services.

Romit, which offers a wallet service designed to facilitate global remittance payments, plans to officially end its bitcoin services on February 15, according to a text message the company sent to users.

Romit's website shows that the company is moving towards traditional payments and providing credit card storage services to mobile payment users.

At 13:13 Beijing time on January 22, Bitcoin/USD was 398.67, Bitcoin/Euro was 368.60, and Bitcoin/RMB was 2622.42.
