21 Bitcoin Computers Can Be Shipped to Canada

21 Inc has announced that its mini bitcoin mining and microtransaction device, the 21 Bitcoin Computer, is now officially shipping outside of the United States.

The company said it will initially be available only to buyers in Canada, but will be available in other new regions in the coming weeks.

21 announced the news in a blog post:

“ International shipping is the first step in our quest to build a machine payment network where currencies like Bitcoin, which have no national boundaries, can flourish. ”

The Bitcoin Computer allows users to mine bitcoins, set up machine-to-machine microtransactions for digital goods and services, and develop applications that use the Bitcoin protocol.

It comes with a full copy of the blockchain, a range of apps to try out and a command line interface that allows users to set up the device themselves, and retails for $ 399 .

The device can be purchased through the company's online store or Amazon, although the latter cannot currently be shipped to Canada.

As of press time, the company had not responded to requests for comment on its strategy for entering the Canadian market or in which markets it intends to offer purchasing services as part of its expansion plans.
