70% of financial institutions are optimistic about blockchain technology

Baozou Comment : According to the survey, 70% of financial institutions believe that this innovative technology will be beneficial to business development. In addition, other survey results are also worth noting. Among them, the UK has the most knowledge of blockchain companies, reaching 35%. This is not surprising at all, because the UK is indeed far ahead of other countries in this regard, and has reached a consensus from top to bottom that Internet financial technologies such as blockchain have the opportunity to make London a global financial center again. 19% of companies said that they are ready to face the impact of blockchain technology. Most domestic companies should have no idea of the impact that blockchain may cause, so the situation may be more worrying.

It is worth noting that according to survey data from business information company FTI Consulting, among financial institutions that are well aware of the technology, as many as 90% of them are optimistic about blockchain. Among them, there are many people who are concerned about blockchain. They believe that blockchain technology may help criminals engage in illegal financial activities and evade regulation.

FTI Consulting GM : Dan Healy

According to General Manager Dan Healy, the survey was not intended to be used in a formal report, but was intended to help FTI understand financial institutions’ attitudes toward blockchain. The survey received more than 700 responses.

Dan Healy said:

“Our starting point is to help companies understand financial institutions’ understanding and attitude towards blockchain. We often see Internet financial companies competing for the territory of traditional financial institutions, which verifies the above point of view.”

At the same time, the survey results show that although 65% of companies said they knew about blockchain technology, only 26% of them believed they were familiar with the technology.

The UK has the largest number of companies that understand blockchain, at 35%, while Australian companies only account for 14%.

19% of businesses said they are ready for blockchain technology, but that number increases to 52% among businesses that are more aware of blockchain.
