Japan Seminar: Infrastructure Innovation Guided by Blockchain

BC Finance, Myanmar’s largest microfinance institution, launched an innovative experiment with private blockchain technology, and the financial company business seminar “Blockchain-guided Infrastructure Innovation” was grandly held!

On March 4, 2016, in Tokyo, Japan, the financial center club located in Otemachi is directly connected to Tokyo Otemachi subway station. The venue is equipped with mobile devices. The meeting was scheduled to have about 100 participants. Due to the continuous flow of participants, the number was temporarily increased to 200. This meeting discussed the complete infrastructure innovation with business planning and business intelligence systems as the business objects.

In recent years, blockchain technology has attracted a lot of attention. In addition to the characteristics of "zero downtime", "anti-tampering" and "cost reduction", it has also introduced new platforms developed in cooperation with existing IT systems. This conference discussed and presented the results of the efforts of various companies with the theme of the innovation of financial basic technology and financial infrastructure guided by a new set of blockchain technology.

At the beginning of the meeting, Infoteria President and CEO Yoichiro Hirahara sent greetings. He thanked the attendees for attending the meeting and for hosting the special guests, and introduced the company's latest overseas cases in the field of blockchain technology and its efforts in Japan.

The special dialogue program, "The Latest Trends in Fintech at Home and Abroad", was followed by Mr. Takashi Hara, editor-in-chief of Nikkei BP's Nikkei FinTech (issued on March 22, 2016), who was invited as a special guest. He talked about the founding of Nikkei FinTech and its contents. Before the publication, the number of pre-orders had doubled and was still increasing. The newspaper is a place where different cultural fields of finance and technology can meet. In the conversation, Mr. Takashi Hara discussed their business operation models based on his past experience of interviewing companies such as Square and PayPal, as well as their technological perception of the times where new solutions are constantly emerging, and the differences with the development of domestic financial technology. He also pointed out that the financial industry now needs not only collaboration, but also the spirit of mutual promotion and symbiosis when it comes to affecting traditional businesses. Only when everyone develops on the track of innovation can the industry become active. In the future, more and more efforts will also strengthen such expectations.

Immediately afterwards, Infoteria announced the overseas expansion of blockchain: the basic agreement for the demonstration experiment project on blockchain technology in the microfinance IT system of BC Finance Co., Ltd., the largest microfinance institution in the Union of Myanmar, was signed and published. Mr. Jeremy Kloiser Jones, CEO of BC Finance, gave a speech on the contribution of the poor to the financial transaction environment.

In this experiment, the BC Finance financing system running on Microsoft Windows servers was provided with the technical core by the private blockchain Mijin, and its basic platform was completed in a non-programming collaborative way with Infoteria's main product "ASTERIA WARP".

This led to the speech "The True Face of Private Blockchain "Mijin"" by Mr. Takao Asayama, President of Technology Bureau Co., Ltd. He gave a clear explanation of the characteristics and case examples of Mijin private blockchain based on NEM. He talked about the difference between it and discrete databases, explained the common misunderstandings among the general public and those who know about it, and used metaphors to explain in depth the areas where there may be technical barriers.

The speech "Blockchain's Advantages in Non-Programming Data Collaboration Platform" was delivered by Mr. He Zai Sen, Senior Product Manager of Infoteria. He introduced the implementation of Bitcoin technology in a non-programming environment, the specific blockchain API operation, and how to complete the rapid development of ASTERIA WARP by reducing development hours and costs.
In addition, he introduced the ASTERIA+Mijin experimental environment, which is provided free of charge to companies and individuals. Free provision period: January 18 to June 30, 2016

At the seminar "Blockchain Expands Infrastructure Innovation", participants learned from Akira Sakakibara, Executive CTO of Microsoft Japan, Yasunori Sugii, Representative President and CEO of Currency Port, and Mr. Nei Chaoshan, who took the podium and Mr. Hirano served as the moderator.

The main topics of the discussion were, "Where are the epoch-making nodes of blockchain technology and the benefits to enterprises?", "What is the usability like from the perspective of mainstream experts?", "Can blockchain be popularized?" (Where is it in the development cycle now?)", "Where are the obstacles in the process of popularization?" In response to these questions, the participants expressed their own opinions on "future possibilities, how to use it, and insights into the future".

All the photos of the speakers at the conference were displayed in a pleasant atmosphere, and then reporters conducted exclusive interviews with the guests.

Among all areas of financial technology, the future of blockchain is highly anticipated. The full house at the conference hall shows everyone who is interested in this field that through more empirical experiments in the future, the realization of technology and projects, experiments and innovations aimed at solving problems will gradually verify their practicality in future development. The future development prospects of this field are bright.

Note*: The software platform involved in this activity is Sakura Internet, a leading blockchain and IoT demonstration experiment platform developed by the cooperation between the Technology Bureau and Infoteria, consisting of products and services from three companies, namely "Sakura Cloud Computing", "Mijin" and "ASTERIA WARP", and has been provided free of charge since January 18, 2016.
