Bitcoin price gap between Euro and US dollar is huge

On Thursday (April 14) in the Asian session, the price of Bitcoin denominated in different terms showed different performances, with the largest difference between the US dollar and the euro. Recently, the deputy director of the Russian Federal Savings Bank warned that banks may disappear completely in 2026 because of blockchain.

According to the latest quotes , Bitcoin/US dollar (XBT/USD) fell from 426 to 423 yesterday, and fluctuated in the 423-424.50 range in the Asian session of this trading day.

Bitcoin/Euro (XBT/EUR) surged to around 376 yesterday, and further soared to above 377 in the Asian session of this trading day. Bitcoin/ CNY fell to around 2737 yesterday, and rebounded mildly to 2760 in the Asian session of this trading day.

Will blockchain replace banking?

Andrey Sharov, vice president of Russia’s Sberbank, recently warned that banks could disappear entirely by 2026 thanks to blockchain.

But Brock Pierce, chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation, a nonprofit that supports Bitcoin, believes it is too early to discuss these issues.

Pierce pointed out that although the adoption of blockchain technology will inevitably impact some of the bank's operations, it will ultimately create more opportunities. And the businesses that are most negatively affected are mostly those that no longer create value for the bank.
