Blockchain startup KeeeX raises €100,000 for next phase of company development

French blockchain startup KeeeX, which specializes in file storage and sharing, announced last week that it had raised €100,000 ($112,000) from private investors, though no information about those investors was released.

The new funding brings Keeex’s total capitalization to €500,000. The company’s investors and shareholders include SATT Sud-Est, BPI France and Région PACA.

KeeeX founder and CEO Laurent Henocque said the funding will help the company enter the next stage of development.

“Our solution is already being used by many companies and can help inspire new ways of digital collaboration.”

Founded in 2014 and based in Marseille, France, the company has developed a platform that combines professional instant messaging services with fully private document sharing capabilities, versioning, linking, labeling, commenting, approvals, signatures and timestamping.

KeeeX provides solutions dedicated to helping professionals collaborate more effectively and improve productivity. It uses a patented solution to embed one or more unmodified encryption certificates in any digital content and directly connect it with other files, documents and more metadata.

KeeeX uses blockchain technology to enable users to confirm, establish smart contracts and make ownership changes.

Users identified by Bitcoin signatures can "keeex" all data: messages, documents, files, concepts or keywords. These data will then have a unique ID that can permanently prove their integrity. Different data can be connected to each other, allowing users to create a data chain that cannot be changed.

KeeeX provides solutions to individuals on an annual basis. Companies can choose a licensing plan.

Prior to this fundraising, KeeeX just released KeeeX v3.0, also known as Tigon. The new version provides new features, including one-click Bitcoin blockchain timestamping for all contracts, documents, pictures, inventions, creations, proofs or copyrights.

Blockchain technology is gaining popularity in France. French multinational banking and financial services company BNP Paribas has recently confirmed its commitment to blockchain. The bank has been working hard on its ‘digital transformation’. It has been ‘researching’ blockchain technology since 2011, exploring potential blockchain applications to improve user experience and service efficiency.
